A new yogi!   Atma Center student Alyssa announced the birth of her son, Isaac, on June 23.  He was 7 lbs, 5 oz and 20 inches long.  Alyssa writes, "Yoga definitely helped me through the labor part, I really enjoyed the prenatal class."  Congratulations, Alyssa!

Yogic Studies 1 pictures  The June Yogic Studies 1 module attracted students from as far away as South America!  It was a fantastic group.  Here are some photos:

Mobile Yoga, developed by Atma Center student & instructor Kris Fondran, combines the flexibility, balance and relaxation aspects of yoga with the cardiovascular workout of inline skating.  Mobile Yoga is getting a lot of publicity - it's been written up in Yoga Journal and now by the Cleveland Plain Dealer.  Kudos, Kris!

Themes for current classes   Curious about what's being taught in some of our classes?  Check the list below:

Meditation: stretch with a few asana, calm down with a breathing practice (pranayama), enjoy a brief Antar Mouna to release the mind from its distractions (pratyahara), and finish with hridayakasha dharana, a meditation technique to relieve emotional tension

Stressbusters:  Stress Management and the Chakras: the prana vayus (energy levels of the body & mind), including a basic prana vidya meditation
