Patti took her first yoga class on a whim at a local health club and was instantly hooked. She enjoyed the physical benefits but was most intrigued by the mental effects. She writes, "While I practiced asana for several years, I do not truly feel like I ever practiced yoga until I was introduced to Satyananda Yoga. A back injury brought me to the Atma Center for yoga therapy. I came to realize that yoga is much more than asana. The combination of gentle physical practices, pranayama, and meditation fostered a deeper healing and sense of self acceptance than I had imagined possible!"
Patti believes that yoga is a gift and she teaches to share this gift with others. When she is not whipping up wonderful baked goods in her kitchen, she spends time outdoors and is a member of a mounted trail patrol unit for the Metroparks. As a part of her training for this unit, she gave a yoga class on horseback.
