Did you ever try to meditate and find that it’s just not that easy? Were there too many thoughts running through your head, or the birds outside your window were too loud, or your to-do list was too overwhelming?
Did you know that there are ways to steady the mind, simply, and easily? Like a guided path that leads you to a stunning waterfall, or a recipe to help you prepare a delicious meal, there are practices that can lead you, step, by step, to a comfortable meditative stillness.
Antar Mouna, meaning Inner Silence, is one of these practices. It’s often described as a way to make friends with your mind. It begins by working with the distractions, rather than trying to shut them out!
This is a series of 3 online workshops, plus one bonus in person class that will be held outside (weather permitting.)
This workshop will include discussion, a gentle physical practice, including help with finding a comfortable position for meditation, breathing practices (pranayama), and the antar mouna meditation practice. It is ideal for beginners, and also for more experienced practitioners who are interested in deepening their understanding of the practice. Classes will include information on yoga philosophy and psychology, and there will be time to debrief at the end of each session. Wear loose, comfortable clothing, and have several blankets or cushions on hand for use as props.
This is a wonderful and gentle way to get started on the path of meditation with a technique that can be done anywhere. We are thrilled to offer this summer series and look forward to seeing you there.
Classes are not sold individually, and spaces are limited so sign up soon!
